Omoworare Speaks On Nigeria's Budget Delay

Senator representing Osun East Senatorial district, Babajide Omoworare said the passage of the national budget should not spend up to 6 months at the floor of the house before being passed into law

The lawyer and Senator made this known at the second edition of the National Students' Representative Conference organized by the Law students representative council Obafemi Awolowo University ile Ife, in celebration of his 50th birthday.

The one time Lagos State House of Assembly Majority Leader and current Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in his statement said "In the process of trying to be independent as a parliament,  the president will bring his budget in November or December which I think it is late if he doesn't submit by October and then  If for 6 months, we hold onto the budget, then something is wrong with the parliament.' He said  an independent and functioning parliament should pass the bill as early as possible to cover for it's purpose in its regular 12 months

He further stressed the importance of the budget stating that "The most important documentation every year is the budget, after passing the budget, the job of the parliament just starts; which is the oversight, we need proper oversight."

Other dignitaries present at the conference include his wife, Mrs. Bisi Omoworare, Hon. Folorunsho Bamisaye, Comrade Dare Eluyemi, and Dr Micheal Adeleke, Vice Dean,Faculty of Law  who represented the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, among others.
