LALSA TO HOLD A 2-DAY CONFERENCE IN NOVEMBER

Linguistics and African Languages Students Association(LALSA), Obafemi Awolowo University will hold a 2-day conference which is the first of its kind.

The conference titled "HARNESSING TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY OPPORTUNITIES FOR LINGUISTICS STUDENTS  will hold on 7th and 8th of November,2018, at Ajose lecture theatre, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

According to the organizers of the conference led by the president of the association, Mr  Emmanuel Olutoke, the objectives of the conference are to Brigde the gap between linguistic theory and practice, build a relationship amongst language students in Nigeria and enlighten linguistic students on the opportunities available in the field of linguistics.

Notable speakers invited to grace the occasion include:
Danladi BAMIDELE, a language Technologist; Grace BAMIGBOYE, a speech therapist;
Folashade OSHODI general manager, Ray power FM, osogbo and
Akeem LASISI, poet and double winner ANA/Cadbury prize for poetry.

Also, seven schools are invited from the southern partof the country to participate in the conference. The schools are : UNIILORIN, UNILAG, UI, EKSU, OOU, AAUA and UNIOSUN
