LAUTECH TO RESUME ON THE 15TH OF JANUARY
DESPITE ALL ODDS, THE MEETING WAS SUCCESSFUL AND FRUITFUL
-
It is no longer news that Gov. Ajimobi called for a roundtable discussion with NANS and LAUTECH representatives based on the struggle towards the reopening of LAUTECH gates that has been closed due to non-payment of EAA (Earn Academic Allowance).
-
The governor met with the representatives of NANS ably led by the NANS senate president, Secretary of NANS Zone D and NANS Oyo state chairman.
-
The meeting lasted for two hours in which the secretary of NANS Oyo axis, a student of LAUTECH expressed bitterly the state of LAUTECH and its negative effects on this university community especially the students of LAUTECH after the Senate President of NANS opened the floor for discussion.
-
The governor appreciated them for honouring his invitation and expressed how painful it has been for him to see the gates of LAUTECH closed. Gov. Ajimobi called his counterpart, Gov. Aregbesola in which they agreed to pay the sum of #200 million each into LAUTECH’s account to settle outstanding allowances and salaries of LAUTECH staffs.
-
The SSA to the governor on Youths, Students and Sport, Afeez Bolaji Repete reacted to this fruitful discussion after Gov. Ajimobi dropped his phone call. He advised the governor to meet with aggrieved member unions of this university community such as ASUU, NASU and SANU and work more towards the mutual understanding, cooperation between the government and the aggrieved members of these unions.
The governor promised us to meet the member unions on Wednesday after the payment of #400million into LAUTECH accounts to settle outstanding bills of ASUU, NASU and SANU and the gates of LAUTECH will be opened on 15th of January, 2017 and academic activities will be revived.
-
We appreciate critics from all levels and we promise to work more towards the enhancement of education in Oyo state. We appreciate the intelligence, maturity and tolerance displayed by NANS rep. and student leaders of LAUTECH towards the reopening of LAUTECH.

Thank you and God bless us.
