OAU: "N5,000 USED FOR THE BENEFITS OF NUASITES", SAYS ACCOUNTING PRESIDENT
The President of the Nigerian Universities of Accounting Students, John Akpan has disclosed to Journalists that he never embezzled any money from the account of the department as against what the students representatives council of the department.
The President who was ordered to be relieved of duties by the ASRC has said that the N5000 he was alleged to have misappropriated was added to the money to make the white board in ICAN lecture where the parliamentary sittings took place. He claimed that what transpired in the house on Friday was personal vendetta that the speaker and few honourables have against his person and administration. He was quoted saying "it was not a situation of fraud but but was used for the essence of meeting the needs of the association", the President said.
Also speaking to journalists was the General Secretary of the association who said "the EC had loopholes likewise the SRC but the SRC capitalized on the loopholes of EC, it is a question that boils down to law and morality".
Also, the chairman of the investigating committee, How. Ajilore Ayo was quoted saying "the speaker boycotted some part of the constitution and the ordered he gave was never in line with what the constitution provided", he said.
