700 STUDENTS RUSTICATED IN FUTMINNA
The total number of 700 (seven hundred) students have' been expelled from Federal University of Technology, Minna.
The VC was quoted saying "FUTMINNA had cancelled the practice of awarding pass mark for first degree courses. Most of those expelled did not score above 1.5 out of a possible GPA of 5.0. We have investigated high number of failures and have put in place structures to address such", he said.
The Vice Chancellor of the school, Professor Musbau Akanji disclosed this on Thursday, 5th of January 2017 during the 30th matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted students for 2016/2017 session.
Professor Musbau Akanji however informed the new students that the offences of those expelled during 2015/2016 session is ranged from poor academic performance to bad peer groups. He further warned the newly matriculated students to be against cultism, drug abuse, and examination malpractice amongst others.
Meanwhile, a committee has been set up by the management of the institution against Anti-Social Activities on campus.
