OAU: Court Denies Lecturer Involved in Sex-For-Mark scandal bail

A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Tuesday  refused Prof. Richard Akindele, a former lecturer of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife involved in the sex-for-mark scandal bail.

The presiding judge, Justice Maureen Onyetenu in her ruling today ordered the former University lecturer be remanded at the Ilesa prison until 17th of December for consideration of bail and to allow more evidence from the prosecution counsel as regards the possibility of a bail.

Counsel to the defendant, Francis Omotoso, had filled an application for his bail before the court. The application was opposed by a senior legal officer with the Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences Commission, Kehinde Ayantoye, who filed a counter affidavit deposed to by a detective , Afolabi Oluwatoyin.

The jugde further ordered the prosecution counsel from the ICPC to produce more video evidence to further substantiate the allegation
