Asuu strike: OAU Management reacts to rumours asking students to vacate the institution


Management of Obafemi Awolowo University ile Ife have reacted to the rumours circulating that students of the institution are expected to vacate the campus.

This comes moment after the Academic Staff Union of the Institution joined their national counterpart in the ongoing strike and asked students to vacate the campus.

According to a release signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mrs M.I Omisule, the management assured the students that the 2017/2018 academic session is still on despite the strike emback upon by Academic Staff Union of the institution. ' We wish to assure all students that the University Academic Calendar for the 2017/2018 Academic session is very much on course. As there are no plans to compel students to vacate the campus until the end of year holi days, all members of the University community must be unanimous in the resolution to ensure that the Calendar remains sacrosanct.'

The University Management further enjoins the students and staff to continue their normal activities in line with the University's approved guidelines and also assured all staff and students of their welfare and safety at all times.
