NEWSTRACK PUBLISHER, OTHERS SHORTLISTED FOR AFRICAN FACT-CHECKING AWARDS

         Adejumo Kabir, Akintunde Babatunde and Alawode ibrahim of PREMIUM TIMES have all been shortlisted with 13 others from different African countries for honours in the fifth edition of African Fact-Checking Awards.

       Adejumo Kabir, the publisher of NEWSTRACK, also a student of Obafemi Awolowo University and Alawode Ibrahim, a graduate of University of Ibadan  were both shortlisted for the Best Student journalists Fact-Check category while Mr Babatunde, a program officer with PTCIJ, was picked for his entry: "FACT CHECK: How accurate is Finance Minister Adeosun's claim on JAMB?"

       According to information got from from Africa-Check website, over 150 entries from more than 20 countries were submitted. Winners and runners-up will be announced at a ceremony in Johannesburg, South Africa, in late October.
