Man O' War, OAU Chapter Commissions Walk-Way to Reduce Series of Road Accident

The paramilitary association surprised those who have little knowledge about their modus operandi as they contribute their quota to Obafemi Awolowo University community, as they commission a walk way  between the roads that link banking area and sport complex of the institution on the 24th of March 2017.

Following the series of road accident on OAU campus in recent time, the association sees it as a matter of urgency to do their best in other to curb the incessant road accident on campus.
The work way commission was graced with some of the officials of Obafemi Awolowo University such as the Dean of Division Students' Affairs, Professor (Mrs.) Grace Akinola, the Chief Security Officer of the University, Professor B. J Olasode, the Association Staff adviser, Aderanti Adesoji Emmanuel and the Chief Commandant of Man O' War, OAU chapter, Mr.  Innocent Eze amongst others.
The commissioning of the walk way on Friday was to correct the misconceptions of the public about the paramilitary association (Man 'O' war) as the adviser, Mr Aderanti Adesoji Emmanuel stated that the association is not solely created to provide security for the public.

He said the work way is not the first time that Man 'O' war  OAU chapter would embark on such corporate responsibilities on campus, as he listed a series of developmental projects that has been executed on OAU campus, such as erection of bumps, zebra crossing, bridges that lead to halls of residence, and many other executed projects.

The Dean of Division of Students' Affairs, Professor (Mrs) Grace Akinola also commends their efforts for the job well done, she however advised the association to compliment the project with zebra crossing in front of the walk way, so as to curb road accident as the association intended.

"The university community appreciate and give kudos to the Man O' War for giving back to the University community by embarking on this short project, which would lessen road accidents and also serve as means of safety to pedestrian. However, the association should try to include zebra crossing to avoid total occurrence of accident" DSA said.

The Man O. War commandant, Mr Eze Innocent said that the association is working on how to perfect more project for students to see them as forerunners when it comes to social welfare.

Meanwhile, students of the institution had earlier call for the immediate solution to constant auto accident on campus.
