The President of Obafemi Awolowo University Students' Union, Oyekan Ibukun has said that the corporate bodies like banks and telecommunication companies on OAU Campus should be ready to return to the community what they have been getting from the university community since they have been around without listening to complaints of the current economic recession as an excuse for them to run away from their corporate social responsibility.

Now is the they will", he said.

The President buttressed that Great Ife Students' Union is unique not in the number when they gather but rather in their allegiance to an idea of equality, intellectually fight for emancipation and idea to always stand for what is right by rebranding the Students Union to ensure stable academic calendar in a conducive environment by being proactive, working towards an improved academic, construction of students’ union hostel, establishment of students’ union health committee to improve health delivery, improving the transportation system on campus by incorporating campus shuttle into the university, being diplomatic about INTECU such that each student is allocated a specified amount of megabyte daily for academic purpose and ensuring the feasibility of work and study for students.
