A Union is defined as the unity or agreement of opinion and interest. It is time to understand the meaning of the Students' Union and what it means to us as a group and as individuals. Until we understand the aim of a Union we wouldn't be able to make it work for us. Key words in the definition of a Union are unity, opinion and interest*. Now is time we begin to understand that the Union is not about a selected few who have been gifted the power or gift to rule *NO*, the Union is about the collective interest of every student of this great citadel of learning...‎

The Union is about the opinion of every male and every female with active matriculation numbers, it is about the opinion of that 'SU' girl or that 'jasi' boy. No matter your religious, ethnic and ideological association your opinion is the crux on which the Union stands...

While the interest of all students may never be the same,the careful harmonization of our interest is the premise on which our Union is to move forward and over time, these has been lacking as some elements have not been making us harmonize our interest‎, but I say to you today, the era of harmony is near and the tenure of rebranding is at hand.* The goal of any Union is to harmonize the opinions and protect the interest of every student...‎

The question then should be; ‎
Has our opinion been sought before?
Has our interest been guarded and guided jealously before?‎
‎Why are we always loosing on important issues that affect our studentship and academics?‎
Why do u we go on a struggle, lose it and end up going home?‎
Why do we still have the same problems with us over time?‎
Why have we not achieved anything over time?‎

These are questions students should ask once we hear anything about the Students' Union.‎ Has anyone been able to answer these questions?‎

It would be foolhardy for anyone to claim the position of a saviour or a much awaited Messiah. No single man possesses the solutions to the myriad of problems facing us as students, in our intellectual collectiveness lies the solutions; you and I are the solutions...
‎
But I can boldly say that I understand these problems because I face them as you do, I understand these problems because I live among people who face these problems alone instead as a Union. The first step to solving a problem is identifying the problem. These myriads of problems have been identified and feasible solutions have been worked out...‎

Now is time we understand our strength and fortify it with new ideas. ‎Now is time we Rebrand our Union if our common interest is to see the light of the day. Now ‎is time to fight old wars with new weapons, and now is time to increase our scope and our objectives.‎..

Let us Rebrand our Students' Union before it becomes too late.To Rebrand our Students' Union is no longer a luxury but a necessity...‎
