Beyond the four walls of a university: An overview of MSSNOAU Islamic Awareness Programme (IAP)
The Islamic Awareness Programme (IAP) is a programme organized annually by the Muslim Students' Society Of Nigeria, Obafemi Awolowo University (MSSNOAU). Praise be to Allah, it has been a programme of immense benefit to the Muslim students of OAU, the Ife environs and South West Nigeria at large.
It is a special outreach programme where the awareness about our religion of al - Islam is especially projected beyond the usual four walls of the university. The IAP is the single event where all the session-long activities of MSSNOAU is especially amplified.
During a convenient time this second semester, the IAP for this session will be done again. It is a week long programme of Lectures, Tafseers and exposition of contemporary Muslim issues by reknowned scholars of the country, launching of the 1438AH edition of An-Nuur magazine, blood donations, humanitarian visitations to prisons and motherless babies home and da'wah outreach to the Christians. Also, the consumption of a session-worthy meal is never left out!
This year's IAP (1438AH) will kick start in shaa Allah very soon. And while the general scheme of its historical presentation have been retained, beneficial additions to the usual line-up of its programmes will be inserted this session in shaa Allah, to be specially conducted with the vigor and style fitting for 1438AH - years have rolled over years! So you should watch out for them!

It is by no accident that the IAP has been the nostalgia of graduated OAU Muslim students and the pleasant dream of active undergraduate Muslim students of OAU. No university Muslim programme in the South West have managed to match the grandness of the IAP in attendance and the calibres of the assembly of scholars invited. And in acknowledgement by other institutions and the whole of Muslim Nigeria, Allah has placed MSSNOAU IAP on the podium of leaders.
Allah has always made the IAP wise in plan, unique in style and grand in execution. We still very much hope that with His help, it will even be more and better this time. We can assure you it is a programme to watch out for....
