NANS; A DISGRACE TO STUDENTS' MOVEMENT- FUTA SUG PRESIDENT

It is appalling and highly ludicrous the statement credited to the national president of the national association of Nigerian students declaring the association support for the removal of fuel subsidy.

The statement had vindicated my position that the leadership of NANS and some unscrupulous elements who have turned the association to  a money making venture; a business platform to get off the failure of the government.

It is quite so unfortunate that after receiving such huge amount of money, the leadership of the National association of Nigerian students whose initial plan is to face the governmentl and demand the total reversal of fuel subsidy removal have  now turned to an adviser of the government; the government that failed to consult the organized labour union, civil society organization, the apex body of NANS before removing the fuel subsidy. It is to be recalled that the same president that issue some days ultimatum for the buhari led government for the reversal of fuel subsidy, the same man who condemn the government for embarking on the then decision that can have adverse effect on innocent Nigeria students now after some days now giving support to the inhuman policy.

The failure of the government to properly consult all concern pressure group NLC, TUC before taking a position has clearly shown that the government lack Democratic norms to govern this nation; dictatorship which is the major ingredient used by the military government.

I call on my fellow colleagues, the distinguish senators of NANS to as a matter of urgency, rise up and condemn the disgusting act of the president; rise up and lets  save our  dear association.

Finally, I am urging the distinguished senators of NANS, (SUG president) to be vigilant as another NANS convention approaches. We must not make the same mistake committed by others in the time past.
