Chapter 11

Members of the camp who had families and loved ones in the hamlet reached out to warn them and safeguard them from the imminent danger of the community. This broke the vase as this fast became a four-one-one which went viral among the rank and file of the hamlet. This instilled fear among the people and mixed reactions followed suit.

Olodente became aware of the plot and began to mobilize the armed forces in security of the community for the day. He also didn't undermine the fact that not only was Bamgbegun in imminent danger on the day of the trial but also before and after the trial.

He was however confident of the capabilities of his soldiers as they've proven tested and trusted to be of match to any neighboring force even that of Shonwo. He tasked the leaders of the army to increase the security level in the hamlet. Soldiers and even civilians were obliged to report any suspicious movements in the community.

Olodente summoned Musu for a peace talk which made Musu crossed as to the quick spread of his antics. He was therefore conscious of the possibilities of things falling apart against him. He decided to honor the invitation but still had his stance.

The soldiers from Shonwo implored him not to honor the visit as it was a trap to capture him or an attempt to manipulate and lure him to halt the planned attack. Musu refused and decided to give Olodente an audience as it could be to his advantage.

Olodente told Musu how much his plans were not healthy for the hamlet, for his camp and even for himself. He enlightened him about the antecedents of the king of Shonwo from whom he sought support as the king has in times past impested the hamlet but for the bond in the community, Bamgbegun got stronger and shook off suppression easily. This has made the king always see the hamlet as a growing threat to his throne.
